Oklahoma Heroes: Joe Taylor
Joe Taylor, a citizen of the Muscogee Creek Nation, served with the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam. His first destination was the battle of Khe Sanh where he and his 6,000 fellow marines defended the base against an enemy force of over 60,000 for 77 days. Joe is now a volunteer at the Veterans Affairs Service Office and Museum for the Muscogee Creek Nation. His poem “Warriors of the Dark Blue Line” is featured on a plaque in the museum.
